Another Thing That Cause Bad Breath and How to Eliminate it

Eating onions, usually drinking coffee and irritation of the gums has long been known to cause side effects such as bad breath. But in fact there are other things that can cause 'the smell of the Dragon' at the mouth.

Eliminate bad breath

Here are five other things that can unexpectedly lead to bad breath, as quoted from Huffingtonpost

1. Flu

When we're cold, nasal congestion prevents air into the nose so we are forced to breathe through the mouth. Though this condition causes the mouth to dry out and reduce salivation.

And there is less saliva, the more bacteria begin to accumulate in the mouth and cause bad breath. For ease, you simply chew gum to increase saliva so, just do not select that contain sugar.

2. Eat gummy bear

"The bacteria also love sweet foods, especially if you eat sticky candy such as gummy bears, cherry vines until chewy mint candy. Then that bacteria directly 'partying'," said Kimberly Harms, DDS, of the American Dental Association.

The bacteria that causes bad breath. The alternative is chocolate. According to Harms, chocolate not only dissolves relatively quickly but not too much sugar than other sweets. Chocolate also contains a bit of calcium to protect tooth enamel.

3. Mouthwash

Wow ... turns out some mouthwashes contain alcohol, sometimes the levels are up to 27 percent of the total content of chemicals in the mouthwash.

Yet this is what causes the mouth to dry, leaving a foul odor in the mouth after the freshness of mint scent disappears within a few hours. For that, you should have to look for brands of mouthwash that contains little or no alcohol.

4. Low-carbohydrate diet

Most eating sushi or other high protein foods cause the body to produce ammonia, waste products of protein metabolism. Unfortunately ammonia tends released to the outside of the body through the breath unpleasant odor.

In addition to ammonia, also issued a ketone body, resulting in bad breath like rotten fruit.

5. Many negative bacteria in the mouth

One of the bacteria that live in the mouth and the most foul smelling is 'gram-negative'. Not just rotten, these bacteria also have an extra cell layer that makes it difficult to remove. They are a lot of hiding under the gums and tongue.

This can be resolved by flossing and brushing your tongue (can reduce bad breath up to 70 percent). "Clean the entire tongue, especially at the back where there is plenty of hiding places for bacteria," advises Gary H. Westerman, DDS, professor of dentistry from Creighton University, USA.
